Meet the Principal - Teresa McCasland
Teresa McCasland is the Principal at ILTexas Heritage K-8. She has studied abroad in Taiwan and China recently, working closely with officials from the Republic of China’s Ministry of Education and speaking at schools and universities in the Orient. She has also completed a study symposium in Washington D.C. that entailed working first hand with cabinet members of the U.S. Department of Education, the White House, and meeting with Education officials on Capitol Hill regarding federal education policies and funding. During her summer study program in Washington D.C. she also studied leadership and development at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.
Mrs. McCasland holds a Masters degree in Educational Leadership and a Bachelor of Science degree with triple majors in Education, Literature, and Theatre Communications; as well as an Associate of Arts degree in American Sign Language. She holds Texas Education Certifications in the following areas: Superintendent, Principal, and Secondary Teacher. Her area of expertise is curriculum and instruction, public relations, and jump starting effective educational systems to help increase academic achievement and improve campus morale.
